Mr Wing is a real experience; upstairs there is a fountain and plants which hint at what's to come; descending the stairs to the dining area below, you are invited to enter an exotic world of foliage and flowers trailing down from all sides. The Chinese food is good and includes some more exotic dishes too. A takeaway menu is also available.

Greeted by a white dude. Questioned authenticity. Should have trusted my instincts.

Went with the pregnant wife for the lunch special. She ordered dim sum. I wanted the sweet & sour pork, but since we were sharing, pregnant wife convinced me to get the Cantonese chicken with black bean sauce instead. I pick and choose my battles.

Ordered the Cantonese chicken with black bean sauce. When our food arrived, it was pretty clear that it was sweet & sour something. It was pink and had pineapples in it, and more importantly it tasted like sweet & sour, so we asked the host about it.

"That's the Cantonese chicken" he insisted, despite the fact that Cantonese chicken was supposed to come with black bean sauce, which is easily identifiable since it has black beans in it, which ours did not.

We chose not to press the issue, because I had wanted the sweet & sour pork all along. Then the bill came and it clearly said "SS Pork" on it. We then asked white dude again which dish we had been served.

"You had the Cantonese chicken. The receipt says sweet & sour pork because the keys for each are right next to each other on our computer."

This time we were a little bit more insistent, pointing out that 1) what we had was clearly sweet & sour, and 2) tasted a lot more like pork than chicken. We then also pointed out that there are lots of people in London who don't eat pork for religious reasons, and that this sort of snafu would have been unacceptable in those circumstances.

At that point he changed his tune and said "Oh, maybe you did get the pork. We have a chef in the kitchen who doesn't speak much English and he probably made a mistake."

Way to throw your hard-working immigrant coworker under the bus, white dude. You were the one who entered the information wrong, and you were the one who stubbornly refused to own up to it. Even if it was a mistake, you should at least be able to recognize the few limited dishes on your lunch special menu, which

A friend recommended me to go to Mr Wings and I was very pleasantly surprised. The décor is a funky mix of eclectic euro oriental in the bar / lounge area upstairs – which is so unusual for a Chinese restaurant – and a paradise of tropical plants with 30ft fish tank in the downstairs dining area. The food and service equally measured up to the surroundings and the prices were very reasonable given the high quality. My favourite dish was their signature Aromatic Crispy Duck which was excellent. If you’re not looking for a traditional Chinese restaurant and if you want to impress then I would highly recommend Mr Wing.

When I was told about a Chinese restaurant that had live Jazz nights, a wall-to-wall tropical fish tank and romantic jungle-like foliage I had to make a trip to see for myself! I persuaded a couple of friends to join me and they too were as impressed as I was. Odd as it all sounds, the décor of this place really works and the food and service didn’t disappoint either. One of my favourite bits of the restaurant (and there are quite a few!) were the private alcoves in the basement which just scream ‘romance’! They have curtains that can be drawn shut if you don’t want to see any of the other diners or if you fancy some privacy! In terms of food, they do the usual classics very well and the sta

It was my husbands 30th Birthday and a group of 8 of us from the North took a weekend break to London staying in Kensington, not knowing where to eat etc i searched the websites & came across "Mr Wing", liked the look of the website & menu and decided to book. It was one of the most enjoyable evenings in ages that we had. The Food was fantastic the taste was mouthwatering and plentiful, not one of us could fault it, the service was second to none, friendly nothing to much trouble. Then to finish it off the Jazz piano player well what can i say she was excellent, very professional with a brilliant voice and sociable for the whole evening. I wouldn't hesitate in recommending "Mr Wing" to a
