Ping-pong is such an accessible sport that pubs can’t seem to erect tables fast enough. Ping is the perfect Earl’s Court party venue. Having seen the table tennis craze they dedicated the entire venue to the sport. Decorated with a loose New York style theme, there are cocktails and DJs to up the fun.
Many things change as you grow up but the ability to resist the charms of ten-pin bowling on your birthday isn’t one of them. All Star Lanes is the premium bowling experience. There are karaoke rooms as a sideline, gigantic pizzas and nights dedicated to anything from drum ‘n’ bass to rockabilly.
Sometimes all you want on your birthday is the comfort and stability of a top Leicester Square bar. Forget the charming pubs of West London, the basement bars of East London you want party tunes and the chance to dance like no one’s watching. Zoo Bar in Leicester Square gives you all this till the early hours.
Looking for a pub in Dalston to celebrate your birthday, only with a little more je nais se quoi than the next place? Well why not try the Hunter S? There’s the rockstar-writer theme, solid food and drink, some of the finest taxidermy in London and a large area at the back of the pub with a mirrored ceiling to rival the Sistine Chapel for looks. Yes, really.

Take a large pub in the heart of Angel, add excellent weekend parties, famous guest DJs and karaoke rooms with dressing-up boxes and you’ve got yourself a great birthday venue. The Old Queen’s Head will book out rooms and spaces to satisfy all your party needs.
If you’re lucky you may have established yourself a large group of friends over the years. What large groups hate is to be packed in tight in some underground cellar bar on someone’s birthday. Which makes the Lock Tavern in Camden the perfect place to celebrate one’s annual anniversary. It’s hip, there are DJs and there’s plenty of space to run around.
Floripa was formerly home to Favela Chic and in many ways what is there now is a like-for-like replacement. The only thing that seems to have changed is that now as well as the tabletop dancing and raucous multi-genre music nights there is an excellent Brazilian menu. Floripa has space to spare and books tables for large groups, making it a great place to host a birthday celebration.
