Apostrophe Launches ‘Espresso Yourself’ Design Competition

The All In London Blog

Apostrophe, the London based café group, is launching ‘Espresso Yourself’, a competition to design a special edition winter takeaway cup.

Following the success of Apostrophe’s ‘Window Wonderland’ competition last year that invited creatives to design festive artwork for the store windows, ‘Espresso Yourself’ will give participants the chance to have their artwork printed on Apostrophe’s cups during the winter season.

Open to everyone, the competition will run from 5th July 2010 to 16th August 2010. The winning design will be chosen by a panel including Emma Farrow, Head of Design at Topshop, Irene Bradbury, Assistant Director at White Cube gallery, and Kevin Curran, CEO of Tri-star Packaging. The announcement will be made on 23rd August 2010. The cups will be in stores from November 2010.

All entries will be displayed on Apostrophe’s Facebook page, where fans can vote for their favourite design. The top five entries will be included in the final ten, from which the judging panel will pick the winner.

The winner will have their design printed on all Apostrophe’s regular sized 12oz take away cups from November 2010 to January 2011, getting great exposure throughout central London. In addition, the winner will receive free coffee at Apostrophe for a year and £500 worth of art supplies from Cass Art.

Designs are required to use up to four whole colours – white and three others – and should evoke a “wintry” feel. The design must fit the template, which can be found on www.apostropheuk.com/espressoyourself

Entries must be sent to [email protected]
