Brace yourselves for the first of what will possibly be several Valentine's themed post in the coming two weeks - apologies in advance, but it's the only time of year other than Christmas and Birthdays that you can justifiably persuade your other half to buy you a present...
So on that note, I had to tell you about an exclusive pop-up shop that will be appearing at the Back To Basics craft space on Old Ford Road in Bethnal Green for one day only this Saturday February 5th, featuring a host of fabulously romantic Valentine's treats! The shop will be showcasing a hand-picked selection of the crème de la crème of design gifts from London’s best independent artists and craftspeople, including stall holders from London’s best markets including Brick Lane and Camden as well as regulars of The East End Craft Guerilla, and the latest collection of Love Laurel handmade knickers from yours truly.
The Pop-Up Shop offers a unique retail experience, the chance to buy a gorgeous handmade gift for your special someone whilst helping fund a new community arts and crafts initiative. Part of the purchase cost of each item will also be donated to the Back To Basics project which aims to provide free arts and crafts workshops for the local community.
Throughout February Back to Basics will also be hosting a series of Valentine's-themed workshops, including card & badge making, a shift dress sewing class, cup cake decorating, learn to crochet a Valentine's heart or for the ultimate crafting experience, a lingerie masterclass! The workshops are from £10 per person and are the perfect way to tap into your unexplored creative talent.
