Scentsational Summer Fragrances

Love London

Being a perfume whore myself, I generally have at least 5 different ones on the go at any one time, but for normal fragrance fans who might only have one or two Summer is the perfect time to trade in your scent for a lighter, more refreshing version - here are my pick of the pops:

Stella Sheer is a cleaner version of the classic Rose-scented original. Modern and edgy, this sparkles with crisp green apple, frosted lemon and Bulgarian rose while a heart of peony and roses pulses with the sensuality of amber. For 2011 the fragrance is enriched with the addition of an organic rose, grown high in the mountains of Persia for over 500 years. £38.00.

Inspired by turquoise waters of tropical lagoons, Issey Miyake's L'Eau D'Issey is a fresh fragrance radiating top notes of pear water and rose that blossom into a floral middle notes of peony and carnation. Base notes of osmanthus and precious wood enhance the velvety notes of the scent, creating a zingy, citrussy scent perfect for summertime seaside frolics. £39.50.

Burberry Summer is like summer in a bottle - a fruity floral reminiscent of dew-fresh summer mornings. Sparkling top notes of pomegranate with orange mandarin and green leaf give way to floral heart notes of rose, freesia and lily of the valley, followed by a soft veil of cedar wood, sandal wood and white musk. Luscious. £33.00.

The new Daisy Eau Fresh from Marc Jacobs is a summery take on one of my favourite classics. Fusing a bubbly elegance with a playfully spirited twist, this sassy scent is for the free, fun and fabulous. Charming bursts of natural raspberry and grapefruit blend withviolet, wild rose and apple blossom to produce a fruity fusion that screams long summer days and picnics in the park. From £48.

Elie Saab's debut scent, simply named La Parfum, celebrates the splendour and brilliance of radiant femininity with a floral solar woody theme. Orange blossom sets the tone, amplified by sumptuous jasmine and enriched with a pure patchouli heart. The tone of the white flower bouquet is filled out voluptuously by a cedar wood accord, unfurling into notes from rose honey. The perfect scent for sultry starlit summer evenings. From £38.00.

Saving my favourite for last, the new L'Occitane Pivoine Flora Eau de Toilette captures perfectly the fragrant atmosphere of a garden filled with peonies. The subtle aura of the peony flower is encapsulated in a rich floral fragrance with hints of green freshness. The feminine bottle evokes the delicate roundness of a peony as it comes into bloom, a gorgeous addition to any dressing table. Top notes include a burst of luminous and juicy scents of bergamot and grapefruit followed by a bouquet of peony and rose petals and base notes of sandalwood and white musk - fresh enough to be worn in the daytime but just sexy enough for when the sun goes down... £33.00 from http://uk.loccitane.com and L'Occitane stores.

All other fragrances avaialable nationwide from all good department stores.
