Kurt Geiger Launches New Accessories Collection & Boutique

Love London

Everyone's favourite shoe shop Kurt Geiger have come up trumps by launching a brand new accessories concept, as well as a shiny new store in which to house them. Specially sourced accessories designers now join the in-house design team, led by Creative Director Rebecca Farrar-Hockley. Shoes, once the sole stars of Kurt Geiger, shine alongside an irresistible array of handbags, small leather goods, chic technology accessories, scarves, gloves, jewellery and hair accessories with attitude.

Friday saw the opening of the new boutique on Grafton Street, W1. The first store in the world to reflect the new store concept, it will hold the accessories collections exclusively before all freestanding stores are transformed to sell Everything but the Dress in September 2011. The website www.kurtgeiger.com will also be relaunching imminently to sell the collection.

Creative Director Rebecca Farrar-Hockley has collaborated with distinguished visual expert John Field to create the mysterious and seductive world of Kurt Geiger. The creation of high-shine visual components and an ultra chic interior is brought to life with mannequins bearing nothing but enviable accessories and irresistible shoes. A glossy red door sits between two windows containing rotating chandeliers, a dazzling display of shoes and accessories. Holding the elite of the collections, this luxurious concept store will be home to the most daring stilettos, oversized bags fashioned in the finest European leathers and jewellery in precious textured materials.

The Accessories collection offers a strong, urban collection of stylish pieces. The handbags are created in soft European leathers in a palette of sophisticated colours, complete with heavy gold plated zips and hardware for a contemporary feel. The outerwear is inspired by urban street style with fingerless gloves, faux fur snoods and soft angora scarves. Jewellery pieces have a handmade feel that combine materials such as faceted glass, suede and plated gold.

Cool, kitsch and cute. Candy is a fun and playful collection of instantly desirable accessories such as purses, cardholders, technology accessories, key fobs, pencil cases, cosmetic bags and shoppers. Materials such as Perspex, nylon, printed satin and embossed snake all come in eye-popping colours. Small trinkets such as beaded necklaces in fluro colours, coloured friendship strings with star charms, hair accessories, earrings and rings all sit in gold star bubble packaging. Instantly collectable Candy are the ideal gifts.

The collection sits perfectly alongside Kurt Geiger's footwear and is sure to make Christmas shopping that little bit easier this year! Top of my hit list is the hot pink leather Jelly Baby bag, £120. Lush.
