London certainly has it's fair share of spas, but the newly-opened ESPA Life at Trafalgar Square's Corinthia Hotel surely is the piece de resistance.
Spread over four floors and covering 3,300 square metres, the enormity and grandeur of ESPA Life is simply breathtaking. Soft curved walls throughout, black Tunisian marble and textured leather, ESPA Life is a place to be seen, but undeniably private and exclusive. A Private Spa Suite, 17 treatment pods, nail studio, Daniel Galvin hair studio, 9 metre silver steel swimming pool, amphitheatre sauna, black mosaic steam room and a state-of-the-art gym are just some of the exceptional spa and fitness facilities available. I recently paid my first (of what will certainly be many...) visit and was blown away by the sheer beauty of it - miles of marble corridors, relaxing lounge chairs in front of an open fire in the changing suite, and the aforementioned pool is a sight to be seen.
The Personalised Facial was my first ESPA experience. My therapist began with wafting different scented oils in front of my nose and asking me to select my favourite scents, to be used in my facial. After a deep cleanse, my skin was analysed under a Skin Vision Lamp, a fascinating experience; areas showing up bright white showed healthy skin, violet showed areas of dryness and coral, areas of oilyness. From this my facialist could correctly identify which products to use in which areas and what products to recommend for future use. During the face mask part of the treatment I had the choice of a scalp massage or a hand and arm massage - I chose the latter - the deliciously scented body lotion used has become a personal favourite! The facial was an incredible experience, and the attention showed by my facialist was second to none. Post-treatment I was presented with an advice leaflet highlighting which areas had shown up dry/oily, as well as recommended future treatments and products.
Visitors to the spa can enjoy the use of the additional facilities - the amazing pool, incredible spa lounge and exhilarating ice fountain are not to be missed!
