Chanel's springtime sunset

Love London

In perfect time for payday, Chanel's spring make-up collection hits the shelves today bringing with it lustful dreams of summer skies and banishing (almost) all thoughts of January's wintry weather...

Imagine a hazy pink-streaked dawn light, or a richly glowing glowing red sunset - both are the inspiration behind the new collection, a cacophony of subtle pink, peach and coral tones seamlessly blending together to create the perfect palette. With satin lipsticks and gently shimmering glosses, luminous nude tones for eyes and beautiful flushed hues for cheeks, the collection - created by Peter Philips, Creative Director of CHANEL Make Up - is a as wearable as it is covetable.

Lips, eyes, face, nails - the whole collection is stunning, but top of your lust list should be the Blush Horizon de Chanel. Housed in the brand's classic case, inside lurks a blush like no other, transformed into streaks of a spring dusk skyline, with graded tones of pink and peach producing the perfect finish.

The new Rouge Coco Baume is the perfect addition to any daily routine. Like all the lipsticks in the Rouge Coco range, its formula incorporates the Hydratender complex for instant and lasting hydration. Its incredibly soft, silky smooth texture is enriched with a complex based on oil and cane sugar known for its restorative properties. For a lighter touch than a classic Rouge Coco lipstick, the Rouge Coco Shine lipsticks light up the smile in tangy, semi-sheer shades with a subtle wet-look effect. Flirt a vibrant coral, has become a favourite of mine already - it'll look even more perfect with a tan in the summer. Finish it off perfectly with a slick of the Lèvres Scintillantes lip gloss - shades Bagatelle and Pétillant give sheer expression to the collection’s pink and peach harmony. All the sensuality of the lips is revealed under this high-shine texture; they are illuminated with flashes of gold or silver to capture all the effects of light.

Chanel's Le Vernis nail polishes are the one thing I will always have on my shopping list. The shades are incomparable, and this season is no different. Guided by the mischievous spirit of the most changeable of seasons, Peter Philips has created a trilogy of colours which are the perfect accompaniment to all the pink
and peach harmonies on the cheeks and lips. April boasts the highly luminous garnet of wild berries, May is an intense pink, the universal shade of happiness, and finally June, a subtle pastel apricot, is like a delicious foretaste of summer.

I'm in love with it all!

The collection goes on sale today and is available in Chanel boutique's Selfridges, Harvery Nichols and larger Boots stores.
