Love London

Thought you might not like to admit it guys, it's just as important for you to look after you skin properly as it is for us ladies. Just because you don't currently succumb to scrubs, masks, moisturisers and facials doesn't mean you shouldn't, which is why pioneering cosmeceuticals brand SkinCeuticals has launched a brand new facial treatment especially for men.

The City Recovery Treatment is designed to correct and prevent damaged skin caused by environmental aggressors and city living; free radical attacks, caused by pollution, smoke and UV light can lead to premature ageing and poor skin function and are common place for the average city worker. This attack by external aggressors alongside dehydration of the skin caused by air conditioning and central heating often causes skin to look dry, old, congested and ‘sluggish’. Combine this with a bad diet, smoking, alcohol or lack of sleep and the skin is left appearing ‘stressed’, often resulting in ailments such as dull skin or even acne and rosacea. Bad times.

The SkinCeuticals City Recovery Facial incorporates deep cleansing, antioxidant therapy and skin protection, to address all of these skin issues. This facial helps to correct any visible signs of environmental damage, whilst brightening and re-hydrating the skin and preventing further skin damage. At either 75 minutes for the full treatment or 45 for the Express version, it's ideal for those who live a high octane lifestyle and need regular, effective, hard-working facials. It consists of deep pore cleansing, extractions and exfoliation using the salicylic and mandelic acid SkinCeuticals SM Gel Peel and SkinCeuticals Clarifying Clay Masque.

Once the skin is thoroughly steamed and cleansed, it is stimulated and oxygenated with the use of the Direct High Frequency Treatment machine which bathes the skin in oxygen molecules and stimulates the blood flow. In addition it helps to close the pores and provides an added benefit of an antiseptic effect for acneic skin. For deep hydration, the SkinCeuticals Hydrating B5 Masque is applied and absorbed by the skin whilst a lymphatic drainage massage is undertaken by the therapist. The antioxidant therapy is incorporated with the application of the SkinCeuticals Vitamin C Firming Masque and a dose of the new Phloretin CF Gel and AOX+ Eye Gel to help correct visible signs of ageing and help prevent against future environmental damage.

The treatment concludes with the application of a broad spectrum UVA/UVB sunscreen and a recommended prescription of at-home SkinCeuticals products (which includes daily use of the Phloretin CF Gel and Sheer Mineral UV Defense[i] or [i]Ultra Facial Defense sunscreens).
