The latest incarnation of the ghd styler has been unveiled; the Scarlet. Although updated to feature red plates and a protective plate guard, the classic recipe for perfect hair is mostly unchanged in this latest deluxe gift set. The styler arrives in a heat-resistant red satin clutch bag, smattered with a bit of sparkle, which could easily be used for a night out if that’s your kind of look. The red satin vanity box in which it is housed also contains a limited edition travel hairdryer (surprisingly powerful for one so petite) as well as two ghd sectioning clips.
The styler boasts an update on the previous model; smoother plates, a cooler, lighter body, ceramic heaters and contoured plates and an automatic guarantee. Though ghd’s are undoubtedly fantastic straighteners, if you’ve already got a pair from the last couple of years, the updates are quite enough to justify spending £149 on an upgrade. For that price it would be great to have had some kind of styling booklet in the set, a step-by-step guide to how to create signature styles perhaps; I for one am rubbish at knowing what to do with styling tools so any help is always greatly appreciated! Having said that, if you haven’t yet joined the ghd bandwagon, now’s the time to buy – or if you’re a particularly generous friend, the indulgent packaging would make a wonderful gift!
