I visited at the weekend for a session, designed to promote healthy skin, treat lines and wrinkles, acne scarring stretch marks and pigmentation problems. The skin is treated to a deep, mechanical exfoliation, which gently resurfaces the outer layers of the skin, removing damaged cells and stimulating the skin's natural cell regenerating process, resulting in healthy, natural, smooth and youthful skin.
The treatment began with a deep cleanse using a glycolic acid-based cleanser. Tiny micro crystals were then blown onto the skin, whilst simultaneously being sucked up, removing dead skin cells and unblocking pores. The treatment itself was slightly ticklish, not at all painful but a mildly odd feeling - nevertheless it was over in about 15 minutes. Extractions followed - never a pleasant experience but worth it in the long run; one of my biggest skin complaints is blocked pores so it was a feat worth enduring! The process ended with a moisturiser and SPF application.
Directly following the treatment the skin is left slightly reddened (like a mild case of sunburn). It's recommended to use a high factor SPF for the following days, and stay out of the sun. Within 24 hours I saw a difference in my skin, it definitely looked brighter and more awake and I'm certain that with a course of six treatments as recommended the results would be brilliant.
