Alexandra Soveral's Signature Facial

Love London

“Imagine if your face could have a work out at the gym... my treatment tones the muscles allowing the face to become more youthful and radiant with immediate results. After many years of research I developed unique massage techniques, combined with science and the purity of essential oils.” - Alexandra Soveral If you're a fan of a good facial, pay a visit to Daniel Hersheson at Harvey Nichols for the Alexandra Soveral Signature Facial Treatment - it might well be the best facial you ever have. A non-invasive approach to a youthful appearance is achieved by releasing tension within the facial muscles and connective tissues. The signature facial helps tone the muscles and rejuvenate the skin. Deep tissue massage and lymphatic drainage squeeze toxins out and encourage oxygenated blood into every cell, transporting vital nutrients to form healthy skin.

After studying biochemistry at university, Alexandra Soveral launched her brand in 2005 and now has over 10 years experience as a therapeutic and complimentary therapist. Soveral creates all her natural and organic skin care products herself, all of which are designed to compliment her signature facials and for use as part of a skin care regime. Combining science, nature and beauty, the signature facial treatment helps break down toxins under the skin and separates muscles and tissues. Hot and cold stones are used in the treatment to tighten the muscles, leaving skin looking plump, radiant and youthful. The Beauty Therapists at Daniel Hersheson are the first in London to be personally trained by Alexandra Soveral to perform this treatment.

The treatment began with dry skin brushing to activate the lymphatic system, encouraging sinuses to clear and trapped toxins to escape. It also lifts dry skin cells, leaving the skin with a healthy natural glow and ready for a facial massage. The face was first cleansed with the [i]Awaken Cleanser - containing a natural antiseptic of lavender essential oil it is massaged into the face and removed with damp cotton wool, followed by a spray of the Rose and Neroli Toner & Face Mist to hydrate the skin.

Soveral's signature product, Angel Balm was then used as a deep cleanser, massaged into skin in circular movements to regenerate and nourish. With geranium to balance sebum production and keep skin supple, it's great for dull, congested skin due its stimulating action on the circulation. The Bee Young Honey Mask was a revelation - the sticky honey-like product was slicked on to my face, before my therapist Heidi literally tapped her fingers across my face to pull the gloopy substance off and unclog my pores at the same time. Amazing.

The 'Skin Food' Face Oil followed - Forever Young, an anti-ageing oil lifts tired dull complexions, re-invigorating muscular tone and feeding the skin with the nutrients needed to combat daily stresses and keeping the skin looking fresh and toned. The Midnight Oil is the regenerative choice, containing palmarosa, geranium. fennel and lemon blended into a super natural vitamin base of Evening Primrose and Apricot Kernel, perfect for balancing the skin.

Next step was an eye draining massage using the Forever Young Anto-Ageing Eye Balm. Full of antioxidants, vitamins and repair agents including honey and frankincense, it was massaged into the eye sockets and followed by the finishing touch of the Formula 1 moisturiser, to fight against pollution, dehydration, fatigue and stress.

The facial left my skin totally glowing, gorgeously clear and feeling superbly fresh. It was quite possibly the best facial I've ever had and though not cheap, I will certainly be saving my pennies to return for another as soon as I can. The Alexandra Soveral Signature Facial Treatment is available from Daniel Hersheson in Harvey Nichols, single treatment (75min) £145. Top up treatments (45min) £85. To book call 020 7201 8797.
