A taste of Thailand in Theatre Land...

Love London

Tucked away down a side street, mere seconds from the tourist hub of Covent Garden, lies little slice of Thailand amongst the throng of London’s West End. Opened last autumn, Thai Square Spa brings the only Traditional Thai Spa experience to the UK. The stunningly luxurious decor (think mirror mosaic walls and lots of gold leaf...) and traditional touches transported me straight back to a particularly good massage I experienced a number of years ago in Bangkok, so I couldn’t wait to see if London’s version was up to par...
The spa boasts seven treatment rooms including two specially designed Thai Massage Rooms complete with specialist Thai massage couch, as well as 2 individual treatment rooms housing their own luxury copper relaxation bath. Other facilities include a mosaic steam Rasul and a beautiful relaxation area. The comprehensive treatment menu consists of everything you would expect from a luxury day spa and more. Alongside the facials, massages and body treatments on offer are specialist treatments for mothers-to-be, hair, hand and foot therapies as well as The Royal Treatments – five therapies developed exclusively for Thai Square Spa using traditional ingredients and techniques dating from the late 19th and early 20th century, steeped in the history of the kingdom of Siam. The Royal Treatments include a 2 hour Jade hot stone massage and a gold leaf facial; the very height in luxury relaxation.

The Erb products that are used within all of Thai Squares treatments are made in Thailand. Erb is a premium natural skincare range inspired by ancient Thai herbal remedies and rituals. The Brand was launched in Thailand in 2000 and it is already recognised as one of the country's top skincare brands. Erb uses traditional and natural Thai remedies including herbs, flowers and roots to create a range of products that are dedicated to the wellbeing of the mind, body and soul.
I recently indulged in the Asian Invasion body wrap, a deeply detoxifying body experience designed to improve skin tone and clarity. After beginning with a floral foot soak, the whole body was slathered with a scrub to slough away dead skin before the clay wrap was applied. I was then, for want of a better word, cocooned in a heated duvet on a deliciously warm massage bed, while it worked its magic. One blissful head massage later (and a quick snooze...so cosy...) and I hopped in the shower to rinse off, followed by a coating of body cream. I was left refreshed and revived, with silky soft skin that did indeed look and feel a lot better than it had done 90 minutes before.
