Top 5 comedy gigs this week ...

London's Comedy Blog

Morning Londoners!

Not gonna be as sunny this week apparently. Sorry to be the bearer of bad news, BUT I can sweeten that with some good news – there's some cracking live comedy on to make everything better. Phew.

Here are LondonisFunny.com's highlights of the week:

Rich Hall's Hoedown, Soho Theatre
Join comedy legend Rich Hall and his virtuoso musical mates as they gee up for a late-night mash-up of music and comedy. (Weds-Sun)

Rhod Gilbert – The Man With the Flaming Battenburg Tattoo, Hammersmith Apollo
Exasperated Welsh stand-up Gilbert is back with a new show that has three nights at the Apollo this week. (Fri-Sun)

Arthur Smith's Royal Yacht Aid, Udderbelly
Weather-beaten wit and old-school Londoner Smith gets the run of the Udderbelly for one night. Details of what will actually happen are remarkably vague but you can expect plenty of roguery and laughs from Smith. (Friday)

Live at the Chapel, Union Chapel
Always a good one, this month Live at the Chapel in Islington has Mark Watson, Danny Bhoy, Claudia O'Doherty, Tom Basden and Arthur Smith. (Saturday)

ARG Comedy Festival, King's Cross Social Club
A one-day festival chock full of Edinburgh previews that features no less than 18 acts! And there's quality as well as quantity, as you can see Thom Tuck, Michael Legge, Tony Law (pictured), Pappy's, Sara Pascoe, Max and Ivan, Sheeps, James Acaster, Claudia O'Doherty, Nish Kumar and plenty more. (Sunday)

There are plenty more recommended comedy gigs in the next few weeks listed on London is Funny, plus loads of Edinburgh Fringe coverage starting from the 15th.

Cheers and see you next week!
