I know I seem to have a borderline obsession/addiction to Chanel make up, but it is quite simply the best of the best. The new Autumn collection, Les Essentiels de Chanel is once again dangerously covetable. Available now exclusively at the Chanel at Covent Garden pop-up boutique, it launches nationwide on Friday so be sure to snap up the key pieces before they sell out. I've shared my favourites from the collection below...
The Eyes...
The star Ombre Essentielle single eyshadows (£22 each)contains two technologies to optimise the effects of the shades, intensifying colour, and the formula is preserved using a compacting technique for a more intense, matte results. Available in five new shades, Complice is a natural soft peach, Éclairé is a sheer golden shade to light up the eye, Furtif is a pale, romantic grey, Infini an eye-opening silver and Noir, an ultra-pigmented, intense black. The Les 4 Ombres eyeshadow quad in Premier Regard (£37) features a bold black, tender pink, beige and taupe grey, perfect for creating an autumnal smokey eye.
The Face...
One thing (amongst many...) that Chanel always creates perfectly season after season is an enviable face palette, and this autumn is no exception. The exclusive Lumière D’Artifices (£46) is a shimmering, illuminating powder compact, radiantly light-reflecting and ideal for prolonging your golden hue of summer long into the new season. Almost too beautiful to use, the elegant case reveals two shimmering shades of beige embossed in a sequin pattern, that blend perfectly to create a subtle golden sparkler.
The Lips...
An indulgent Chanel lipstick is a perennial handbag essential in my world. This season my stand out shade is the decadent Rouge Coco in Caractère (£24), a deep mysterious brown with a dash of violet plum, an ideal match for this autumn's country tweeds. A slick of the matching Extrait de Gloss pure shine intense colour long wear lip gloss in Troublant (£25) is the perfect finishing touch.
The Nails...
Saving the best til last, I will never get enough of Chanel's Le Vernis (£18) nail polishes. Pioneers of the most covetable sell-out shades season after season (past favourites have included the delicious taupe Particuliére and the serpentine green/gold Peridot...), this autumn sees the arrival of three mouthwatering new shades. Vertigo is an almost-black, purple-hued lacquer containing a heart of red pearly particles that reveal themselves according to the light. Suspicious is a dazzling vibrant fuchsia, while Frenzy is a subtly wearable lilac grey. I defy you to choose just one.
