London Fashion Week draws to a close today, following five whirlwind days of spring/summer trends at Somerset House. It's the fashion event of the year, where countless stiletto-clad fashion editors undoubtedly tried to avoid broken ankles whilst negotiating the cobbled courtyard, where carbs are akin to Kryptonite, and where the buzz of front row gossip is so perpetual it's like fashion tinnitus.
My coverage was sorely lacking this season due to being at a wedding abroad (excellent timing...), but I will be sure to update you with the hottest news and trends from fashion month once we've seen what Paris and Milan have to offer. If you weren't the proud owner of a golden ticket to see the action live though fear not, as I've got the best picks of how and where to continue the celebrations:
LFW's official hotel, The May Fair has launched a collection of cocktails designed in collaboration with its May Fair Bar mixologist and some of London's hottest designers. With a line up including Antoni & Alison, Alice by Temperley, Mark Fast, Corrie Nielsen, Olivia Rubin and Holly Fulton, one of these delicious tipples is the ideal way to indulge after a day of west end shopping. You may even spot some celebs whilst you do. Available now until 23rd September, £13 each.
Fash pack favourite Biscuiteers is celebrating LFW with their exquisite tin of Fashionista biscuits (see image above). Handcrafted to the utmost perfection, the vanilla flavoured treats are almost too beautiful to eat; stunning dresses, delicate earrings, statement sunglasses and must-have shoes are all present, an ideal gift for any fashion-loving friend. Plus the gorgeous tin, adorned with an enviable illustrated collection of handbags, is the perfect size for keeping make up in afterwards! £38.50 from www.biscuiteers.com
LFW darling J.W. Anderson is the latest designer to collaborate with Topshop on a Limited Edition collection. Featuring his signature sharp printed separates, my pick is the quilted paisley silk skirt; it totally nails this autumn's print trend. Available now in store and online at www.topshop.com
Always the hottest ticket in town, the doors have finally opened on Burberry's mammoth new Regent Street flagship store, the largest in the world. Yesterday saw the SS13 catwalk show - on a purpose built catwalk in Kensington Gardens - streamed live on the world's tallest retail screen in the new 44,000 square foot emporium. Worth a visit if you're in the area, at 121 Regent Street.
And finally, if you really want to get your teeth into the action then this weekend sees the return of Vodafone London Fashion Weekend to the capital. Once the LFW has cleared out, over 100 of the country's best-loved designer brands from heritage British favourites such as Pringle of Scotland and Jaeger London to some of London’s best emerging designers including Holly Fulton, Sophie Hulme, James Long and Maria Francesca Pepe will be on sale at massive reductions, including samples and one- off pieces from some. With catwalk shows, DJ sets, champagne bars, styling sessions, live workshops with fashion insiders and a host of other events, it's the only place to be seen this weekend! Tickets from £15.50. www.londnfashionweekend.co.uk
