In my eternal quest to find my perfect foundation, I have trawled through dozens in the last few years. From budget to blowout, some have been good, some have been great, many rubbish, but I've yet to find that Holy Grail...until now...Last month French favourite Guerlain launched their new Parure de Lumière Foundation and, just like that, my search came to an end.
A formula utterly steeped in moisture, it's a remarkably light fluid for a foundation with such great coverage; Parure de Lumière is Guerlain's first moisturising and light-diffusing foundation that boost the luminosity of the complexion and the radiance of the skin. On application it really does feel more like a moisturiser than a foundation, a feeling that never abates throughout the day. Available in two textures, a Creme and a Fluid, there's a formula to suit everyone.
The secret of Parure de Lumière is Guerlain's Luminescent Water, marine spring water drawn from a natural reservoir 22 metres under the sea. Its particularly rich content of minerals and trace elements, notably manganese and silica, make it an extraordinary, active water that helps establish remarkable hydrating power.
It's by far the best foundation I've ever tried, pricey, but oh so worth it - a cut above the rest, without a shadow of a doubt. My bottle has just ran out and I feel like an addict clawing out for her next fix whilst I await my next purchase; I have a feeling this is one I might be stocking up on.
