Lucile's Lusciously Luxurious Loungewear...

Love London

Gentlemen, if perchance you are still looking for a special gift for your lady this Christmas (and let's be honest, it's only December 15th, so you probably are...) you could do worse than investing in some lingerie or loungewear.

Now pay attention, for I'm not talking about the red, lacy, polyester, porn-type undies beloved of lads' mag, nor the newly-launched 50 Shades collection (trust me, don't even go there), but an altogether more demure breed of loveliness. Think along the lines of delicate silks and handmade laces, wisps of nude chiffon and floating satin; the kind of sumptuous creations from some of Britain's most exciting lingerie labels that not only will you get a kick out of, but that she will love you for because it's just so damn beautiful...

Founded over 100 years ago by Lady Duff Gordon, luxury lingerie brand Lucile has enjoyed something of a resurgence this year - since being featured on Downton Abbey their sales have gone through the rood. Lady Gordon’s great-great granddaughter, Camilla Blois, has reinvented the brand in its former glory, embracing the delicate Belle Époque romance and sensuality, with every item handmade in England. The Indiscretions Gown (top left) in pale peach ivory chiffon with silk trim features and a luxurious silk sash belt. Perfect for wafting around one's boudoir. Chaise longue not included. £715 from www.lucileandco.com
