Having to choose one's single desert island beauty product is, frankly, nearly impossible. If there was one product you just couldn't live without, what would it be? My choice was forever wavering, that was until I discovered Guerlain's latest mascara, which has basically just made up my mind for me...
The sublime Cils d’Enfer Maxi Lash (£22) is a beautifully glossy, volume-creating, curl-sculpting mascara, and my new handbag essential. Housed in a mouth-wateringly slick golden case, the luxurious simplicity of this beauty is what makes it so perfect. An innovative formula and smooth, supple texture mean it's delicate enough to apply multiple coats without clumping, produce perfect, long-lasting volume.
The secret to the new formula is in the combined action of three remarkable polymers. The first one wraps the lashes in extremely adherent oils, coating and thickening the lashes. The second one, made with supple waxes, acts like a conditioner, softening the lashes so you can sculpt them into just the right shape and style. The last one forms a thin film, coating the lashes to trap the wax and set the amazing curve. Together they're a triple threat, ready to blow competitors out of the water.
In both classic black and a not to be underestimated violet (try it on the bottom lashes for a less harsh look...), I have a sneaky suspicion you might be converted with this one...
