Finding the perfect red lipstick is one of those inevitable beauty Holy Grails. You will undoubtedly spend years searching, finally coming across your dream shade only to find two months later it's being discontinued. Sod's law.
I'm pleased to report therefore that the new Givenchy Le Rouge (£24) isn't going anywhere, and I might have just stumbled across that elusive perfection we all crave.
Intensive colour, gorgeous matte finish and sumptuous glideability (I made that word up, but it applies like a dream...) all add up to make Carmine my Number 1 at the moment. Plus in a truly French rock star/Carine Roitfeld kind of way, the case is covered in black leather. I know. It's amazing. Throw in the matching Le Vernis nail polish (£14.50), with it's newly-designed shorter, fatter brush for über easy application (along with matching leather packaging) and we have ourselves a scarlet dream team.
