Pretty Pressies for Yummy Mummies

Love London

With Mother's Day looming this Sunday, if you can't think past flowers and chocolates in terms of a present I have some gorgeous ideas to pretty up her dressing table which she's certain to thank you for!

There are so many beauty brands with stunning packaging that are just to pretty to hide. Number one has to be Paul & Joe Beauty; look at the pink bottle, centre back of the image. That's nail polish remover! Did you ever see something so lovely? It is £11.50, but that glass bottle will last forever. Similarly beautiful is the Pearl Foundation Primer (£23). With five different tones of shimmering pearls, it illuminates the skin, infused with Paul & Joe’s much-loved ingredient of Orange Flower Water and a blend of White Lily Extract, Jojoba Oil and Apricot Extract. Both available from Harrods.

A beautiful new take on a classic, Guerlain have released a Limited Edition of the exquisite Shalimar fragrance, dressed up to the nines. Celebrating the sensual pleasures of Orient, Shalimar Parfum Initial L'Eau highlights an unexpected concentration of citrus notes, bergamot, and neroli. The bottle alone is enough to fall in love with, but rest assured the scent within will have Mum seduced! £48 from Selfridges, John Lewis & Harrods.

MOR's Lip Macaron in Peach Nectar has become one of my handbag favourites; a light, moisturising, fruity lip balm, is filled with Vitamin E and beeswax. The adorable tin is the tip of the iceberg when it comes to their packaging; the Australian brand specialises in products that are almost too pretty to use! I'm a fan of the Belladonna collection; a blend of White Narcissus, Moroccan Rose and Pink Tulips housed in to die for girly peach packaging. Beautiful. Available from Space NK.

Of course, for the ultimate indulgence for the most deserving of mummies, the only place you really need to visit is [b]Chanel. The new spring collection includes the beautiful Poudre Signée de Chanel; an illuminating powder embossed with the iconic symbols of the house, the double Cs, lipsticks and camellias, it's almost too beautiful to use. The Rouge Allure Velvet Luminous Matte Lip Colour is reinvented in new shades including the vibrant L'Exubérante, and the new Emprise shade of Le Vernis nail polish nails this spring's nude and pastel trends perfectly on the head. Plus, if you visit the Chanel at Covent Garden boutique between tomorrow and Sunday you can visit the pop up flower stall, launched for Mother's Day, and when purchasing any 100ml EDP fragrance you will receive a hand-tied posy of Chanel flowers and a personalised message handwritten by a Chanel calligrapher on a camellia-embossed card. The perfect present.
