For the love of dog - Putney's doggie spa, deli and boutique

Dogs in London - The London Dog Blog

Putney has luckily escaped the ravages that many other London riverside locations are experiencing so Alfie and I struck out for a walk there even though the weather was pretty wet and windy.

We’d dived into one of the pubs usually frequented by rowers for a quick coffee to escape the inclement weather. We were on our way back to the train station having decided it was too chilly to cross the bridge for a wander around Bishop’s Park in Fulham.

And so we discovered “For the love of dog” tucked away on the Lower Richmond Road. It’s a small independent shop that’s stuffed with all sorts of goodies for dog owners.

The friendly staff explained that their best-selling treats were Perrito (100% meat) but they also stocked organic Lily’s Kitchen and Barking Heads.

There were grooming products, collars, coats and jumpers and even some cute carry bags. There was a good selection of collars and leads (even a few sparkly ones) and an excellent range of various sized dog beds – including those fabulous big cushions. There were some nice bandanas too - at £10 – made by a local resident. There’s an extensive selection of products available to buy online at the web site.

Downstairs is the grooming parlour and spa. They do clipping, nails, ears, glands and bathing. There’s also a pick up and drop off service covering a large area of South West London. Puppies are offered a free bath. They also organise monthly social walks.
