No matter how much I try and convince myself otherwise, every year will be faced with a last minute gift dash for someone or something that I've forgotten. It's inevitable really.
Good job that the Christmas gift stalwart of the British High Street, Boots, still has their brilliant 3 for 2 going on on Christmas gifts; with hundreds of items available across beauty, home, electricals and gifts for kids, find a good size branch and you can do a supermarket sweep for the whole family. My kind of Christmas shopping.
I picked up a trio of delights for a few friends just this week. The [bJoules Cream of the Crop Skincare Kit[/b] (£14) is a pair of deliciously scented Body Scrub and Body Butter come in a pair of delightful jars that can be reused after they're empty.
Anything from Philosophy, I have learnt over the years, is also a well-received gift, so upon seeing the Philosophy Classics Gift Set (£16.50) I had to snap one up. With three 180ml versions of some of their best-selling shower gels, Vanilla Birthday Cake, Raspberry Sorbet and Melon Daiquiri, it's a delicious taster of their goodies without investing in one of the giant size bottles. Plus each one has a delicious recipe printed on the bottle - double the fun!
Finally the Florence Anne Blackcurrant & Fig Scented Candle looks, feels and smells a lot pricier than its £12 tag would suggest. In a glass votive with metal lid, the delicately fruity scent is reminiscent of a Jo Malone or Diptyque-worthy fragrance. Think I might even stock up on a few of these and keep them at hand as emergency presents throughout the year...
