Over 1,000 people took part in Centrepoint’s annual flagship fundraiser Sleep Out in London and raised over 250,000. Plenty of celebrities attended to show their support, including actress and fashion designer Sadie Frost, model Daisy Lowe, TV’s Lisa Maxwell, Brooke Kinsella, Rav Wilding and Louisa Lytton.

The youth homelessness charity Centrepoint recently celebrated ten years of their annual flagship fundraiser Sleep Out at The Old Truman Brewery in East London.

A host of celebrities joined the generous, and cold, participants to spend the night sleeping on the streets to raise vital funds to help provide homeless young people with a warm bed, mental health support and help into education, training and employment.

This year’s sleepers were treated to live performances throughout the night from Nerina Pallot, Dan Gillespie, Vangoffey and more, plus a bedtime story read to them by Sadie Frost. Royal Air Force personnel from No 3 Mobile Catering Squadron RAF Wittering ran a field kitchen for the fourth successive year, serving a hot chili and keeping sleepers fed and watered until morning.

In addition to the main event at the Old Truman Brewery a further 11 Sleep Out events took place across the country, including, Sheffield, Sunderland Aberdeen, Cardiff, Norwich and the Eden Project in Cornwall. Thousands of people braved the wet and windy weather to raise £250,000, for Centrepoint and its partner charities, with much more expected to roll in over the incoming weeks.

Centrepoint estimates 15,000 young people will face homelessness this Christmas and needs the public’s support to give young people a safe place to stay and a chance to turn their lives around in 2016.
