The passing resemblance to summer we saw so fleetingly in recent weeks seems to have well and truly left us today; despite being the first day of August one would be forgiven for thinking we'd fast-forwarded to October.
Thankfully we still have the prospect of holidays in the sunshine stretched ahead of us; though I'm desperately yearning for a week in the sunshine I'm yet to book anything. Budget-permitting I want to hit up Cuba later this year and I'm yearning for Ibiza before the closing parties, but whichever I plump for this time round my suitcase will undoubtedly be home to at least one of the deliciously delicate summer cover ups from beach queens Heidi Klein.
Regardless of your destination and summer style, you'll be hard-pressed not to find at least one piece you're pining after. For Ibiza, the Chile Crochet Kaftan Playsuit (£240) is the perfect combo of girly and playful with just a little bit of pizzaz (I love me some coral embroidery). Should Havana happen (please Universe, I've been so good this year...) then the Long Island Crochet Smock Dress (£260) is 100% coming with me for those long nights I intend to spend dancing salsa and drinking rum on a sunset-drenched rooftop. Finally, accompanying me for March's impending two weeks in South Africa (ok, so I do have a holiday booked...) will be the dreamy Namibia Drop Waist Mini Dress (£210) - exactly the kind of glamorous beachside coverup required for late summer in Cape Town.
