Fashion Find of the Week...

Love London

Ah Autumn, season of mists and mellow fruitfulness. All promises of an Indian summer seem mighty far away this morning as I gaze out at the London mizzle, however it's at this point in time I make my confession...

Autumn fashion is The One. Don't get me wrong, I adore summer - trust me, I was not built for the cold - but my London summer wardrobe is non-existent. I struggle with any kind of warm weather clothing that's suitable office attire, given that 90% of my summer wardrobe is neon, fringed and quite frankly only suitable for an Ibizan beach.

This season is another story however. Skinny jeans, cosy jumpers, boots, tweed blazers, scarves; it's my natural fashion habitat. The new Inès de La Fressange collection for Uniqlo is basically all my autumn fashion dreams come true. Back for her eighth season, this collection draws inspo from “hygge”, that Danish buzzword that was the lifestyle of last winter, back again for another turn this year with its cosy, comfiness. The addition of a men's line means this season's collection features 83 pieces, focusing on black and white with fresh accent colours of vivid orange and lemon yellow, as well as Ines’ signature navy tones.

The women’s collection includes new classical sport knits and Nordic sweater patterns with a hygge mood and vintage feel, as well as new silhouette items such as duffle coats and boa blousons, but it's the tweed blazer that's got me excited. The ideal between-seasons cover up, when it's definitely a wee bit too chilly for your summer jacket but not cold enough for a real coat just yet, the tweed blazer is my autumn saviour. Twinned with one of those aforementioned cosy jumpers, prerequisite skinnies and some fierce new boots (my money's on Office to deliver this season), that's my autumn wardrobe sorted.
