If you wee, sleekit, cowrin, tim'rous beasties are looking for somewhere to celebrate the Scottish bard next week as Burns Night arrives on Wednesday 25th, we’ve rounded up some London celebrations that Rabbie himself would be proud of.


The Glenfiddich Time:Capsule terrace at the iconic Rosewood London will host a modern Burns Night where tradition is weaved in with contemporary performances. Guests will enjoy a selection of specially created Scottish-themed dishes and whisky tastings with Glenfiddich ambassador Alex Walker. In addition to poetry recitals of Burns classics and poems, written especially for Glenfiddich by Edinburgh-based poetry collective, I Am Loud, performed by Creative Director Kevin McLean. West London restaurant Sam’s Riverside will be hosting an exclusive menu to celebrate burns night this year. Guests can choose from four exquisite starters, mains and desserts which have all been thoughtfully created to honour Scottish heritage, from Smoked Salmon, Whisky and Clementine to start, a beautifully homemade Vegetarian Haggis served with Neeps and Tatties or Roast Venison Loin with Salt Baked Celeriac, Barley, Beetroot for mains. For those with a sweeter tooth, treat yourself to a Clootie Dumpling served with a side of Marmalade and Caledonian Cream. You could even try Sam’s take on the iconic deep-fried Mars bar served with vanilla ice cream. The menu is priced £65pp and bookings can be made online.



Organic whisky distillery, Nc’nean has teamed up with Mayfair pub The Barley Mow where diners can expect an authentic Burns Night experience, including the traditional ode to the haggis and bagpipes. Executive chef Ben Tish has created an exclusive three course menu including Haggis Wellington, Cullen Skink & Rhubarb Cranachan paired with Nc’nean’s organic single malt cocktails, so guests can raise a toast to celebrate the life of Robert Burns. The Little Blue Door in Fulham and its sister venue The Little Orange Door in Clapham are both throwing a Burns Night party. Taking place on Thursday 26th at The Little Blue Door and on Friday 27th at The Little Orange Door, expect a sensational Scottish-themed supper club, including the piping in of the haggis and tableside entertainment, followed by the ultimate house party, complete with DJ. The three course meny includes Scotch broth with thyme-infused pulled lamb followed by the traditional Scottish haggis served with nutty neeps, tatties and a peppery whisky sauce and an indulgent Cranachan featuring raspberries, honey, oats and cream to finish. A vegan menu is also available on request. Once the plates are cleared it’s time for the Burns Night House Party - there's even a prize for best dressed? GŎNG at The Shard is hosting an evening of cocktails with Torabhaig whisky. The first new distillery on the Isle of Skye for 190 years, Torabhaig ia a well-tempered and complex, peated Scotch, the perfect base for the three crafted cocktails, all served with bespoke food pairings expertly chosen to enhance the complexity of the whisky tastings. Guests can enjoy the Tropical Peat (made with Torabhaig Legacy, Mango Syrup, Popcorn Syrup, Lime Acid, Mango & Passion Fruit Espuma) paired with mini chicken Yakitori, Togarashi; the Dark Skye (made with Torabhaig Legacy, Tawny Port ,Akashi-Tai Umeshu, Noilly Prat, Bitters) paired with house aged Tunworth cheese and winter black truffle; and the Forest Affair (made with Torabhaig Legacy, Pomme liqueur, Citrus leaves, Bitters) paired with cured salmon, avocado, lime, grapefruit.All cocktails are priced at £23 each, or £28 with food pairing.
