PENTHOUSE LIVING AT NHOW LONDON

Love London

Every so often you stumble across a little something that almost seems too good to be true. That my friends, is a stay the penthouse suite at the nhow London hotel in the city.

Now we're not suggesting that the penthouse is necessarily the essential every time you check into a hotel, but if you're going to pick one this is a decent shout. nhow London first opened its doors in January 2020 as part fo the rather exciting new development at 250 City Road.  With London-based studio Project Orange responsible for the interior design, it makes an impact the second you stroll through the door into reception; its theme ‘London reloaded’ is evident in every detail, from the Big Ben rocket sculpture in the lobby, the tweed fabrics on the armchairs, the neon lights, tables featuring cockney rhyming slang and oversized gold bell lights, a reminder of the city’s famous church bells.  It's fun and funky and just a little bit punk.

There are of course a range of rooms (starting from £149 per night), but for a seriously special occasion let us wax lyrical about the Penthouse Suite. At the end of one of the hotel's rather jazzy corridors (that, indicentally, make you feel like you're strutting through a very exclusive club...) lies 79 square metres of joy. We loved the vibrant green carpets making a bold statement the moment you walk in. The main living area is lit with floor to ceiling windows, with a corner view overlooking the city. With a dining table big enough to host, this room is built to entertain and calling out for a party, even if it's just a takeaway feast for two and living room karaoke.

Through a doorway lies a sensational bathtub, framed with some seriously envy-inducing wallpaper, and a regal gold sink, complete with monogrammed towels on the marble shelves. This is a suite that designed to make you feel like a rock star, even with embroidered His & Hers robes hanging in the wardrobe. The room is bedecked in trinkets and details to make you feel right at home - if of course your home was a palatial penthouse apartment...

What's more, nhow London has now teamed up with Pooch & Mutt and Whiskey's Grooming to make sure your furry friends have the time of their lives as well, offering a luxurious doggy afternoon tea (£25) and pampering spa experience. Served on a traditional tea set, the tea includes homemade cupcakes with cream cheese frosting, frozen peanut butter bites and a generous bowl of calming dog treats by Pooch & Mutt, all washed down with a Puppuccino (also known as a cup of whipped cream). The tasty treats are not only packed with nutrients but combine delicious novel ingredients such as hemp and collagen to offer a range of benefits from healthy skin and coat to mental wellbeing, plus the treats are recommended by vets and include probiotics to support healthy digestion.

The capital’s premier holistic dog groomers, Whiskey’s Grooming, also offer guests the ultimate in canine pampering, with its package at the doggy spa nearby the hotel for ‘Wash and Tidy’, including two washes - a cleansing and a hydration wash with a complimentary massage - followed by a blow dry and brush out, a trim and shave, ear cleaning and nail trimming. Plus if you're looking to go the extra mile for your fluffy friend, add a mineral rich mud wrap, antioxidant blueberry facial or cleansing Pawdicure. The experience is available as part of a doggy staycation package, with a stay in a dog-friendly room included, from £249.
