OUR FAVOURITE SUMMER SCENTS

Love London

We love a fragrance wardrobe. Gone are the days of wearing the same perfume all year round; with so many to choose from it’s hardly surprising that one might choose a scent for each season. With summer holidays looming and the temptation to waft about in a cloud of something lovely ever present, we’ve rounded up some of our current favourites to help you find your new signature summer scent.

Miller Harris is no stranger to a seasonal scent. Their wintry perfumes are some of our favourites, think lots of warming notes that make you want to curl up by the fire, but for now are thoughts are turned to the new Hydra Figue (100ml, £125 at www.millerharris.co.uk). Notes of fig, sea salt and oakwood transport you to the Greek idyll; the woody, citrus and marine scent is at once feminine, rugged, crisp and clean, a bohemian dream.

The second launch from its collection in partnsership with the Van Gogh Museum, Floral Street’s new Sweet Almond Blossom (100ml, £108 at www.floralstreet.com) is a fruity, floral scent with notes of pink pomelo, juicy passion fruit, and zesty mandarin, apple blossom, matcha tea, vanilla, tonka bean and sandalwood. The result is a softly floral fragrance with a hint of sweetness, a citrus edge and the long-lasting vanilla base. It’s sweet but sophisticated, warming but light. Floral Street is also dedicated to eco-conscious packing, with each fragrance (50ml and 100ml) housed in a plastic-free, biodegradable pulp box, wrapped in an FSC certified sleeve.

There’s a reason Sol de Janeiro’s products have earned a cult status, and the Cheirosa 68 Perfume Mist (240ml, £35 at www.sephora.co.uk) is no exception. This fragrance is like walking through a tropical garden, brushing past jasmine and hibiscus flowers while sipping on a lychee cocktail in the sunshine. It’s fruity and floral and oh so delicious. As a perfume mist it’s a lighter formula that a classic perfume or eau de toilette, so spritz liberally during the day for a refreshing scent top up.

Fragrance studio Bleu Nour has been created by an entrepreneur with synaesthesia, the ability to smell colours, and creates bold, boundary-pushing scents for home and body. The brand’s self-taught Parisian-Lebanese founder experiences an olfactory response to her viewing colours, resulting in an immersive collection of scents including three new perfume roll-ons with genderless fragrances. We are particularly taken with Neo Violette (6ml, £34 www.bleunour.com), a unique blend of green mandarin, black pepper, mock orange, parma violet and fig with an ambergris based. It’s an intense, delicate scent with a fresh green edge that sits on the skin for hours.
