Whether looking for a hotel for your next business trip or just fancy a cheeky staycation, NYX Hotel London Holborn couldn't be more central. Moments from Holborn station the building is a beacon of Midtown; literally, the colour of its facade ever-changing thanks to a rainbow of light projections.
Step into the lobby and you are instantly hit with a vibe. It's artsy and vibrant, colourful and buzzy, with chic lighting and jazzy furniture and decor and full of personality. There's something to look at everywhere you turn, with art on every wall, and splashes of colour in every corner. Subtle and understated this is not.
Downstairs is home to Midtown Bar and Dining, serving an all day menu of light lunches, snacks, shring plates and tasty mains including a unique burger menu; try The Mexican, with guacamole, Pico de Gallo, chipotle and tequila mayo, or the Pig With a Shotgun with a pork and sweet chilli patty, chill and ginger stir fry, Monterey Jack and tomato and pepper relish. Accompanied by some classic menu, it's a great spot for a quick bite. It's also just launched its Bottomless Brunch, where resident DJs will be soundtracking every Sunday while you dine on plates such as french brioche toast, spiced pulled beef tacos and golden syrup pancakes.
We fell a little bit in love with the parquet flooring in our room, with its super comfy king bed, leather armchair, decent sized work desk (you'd be surprised how often they are impractically small...) and superb views over Midtown's rooftops. Decorated with splashes of the hotel's signature art it was super bright and spacious. Being as it is smack bang on the main road however, remember your earplugs, as the traffic might irritate if you're a light sleeper. Before turning in for the night, head down to the hotel's Rena Spa; with an indoor swimming pool, sauna and steam room and a range of treatments available, it's worth making some time for a visit. We love the sound of the Time Out facial, including a customised mask and cranial scalp massage.
Up on the roof, sits the newly-opened NYX Rooftop bar Glasshouse, definitely one to have on the radar now the weather is slowly improving thanks to its retractable roof. 125 feet above Holborn and filled with bold décor and statement neon artwork, there's an extensive menu of cocktail accompanied by some fresh playlists.
NYX Hotel London Holborn has bucketloads of personality, a refreshingly playful space with an enviable location, right in the thick of the action.
