Akira Back – A Global Culinary Phenomenon in London
Named after the celebrated chef himself, Akira Back delivers his signature modern Japanese creations, influenced by his Korean heritage and global culinary journey. The menu features internationally renowned dishes such as the AB Tuna Pizza and the Perfect Storm signature roll. Exclusive to London, guests can enjoy the Dynamite Lobster and Wagyu Striploin with yuzu kosho borderlaise. Chef Akira Back’s mother, Mrs. Young Hee Back, has her artwork woven throughout the experience - from the walls and menu covers to the ceilings and even the plates you dine on. Selected wines are also broken down into matching elements Wind, Water, Earth and Fire - each categorised for their distinct style with a focus on small producers and up and coming brands. Dosa by Akira Back – An Exclusive Korean Chef Tasting Experience
At Dosa by Akira Back, an intimate 14-seat chef’s table, guests can experience a meticulously curated tasting menu inspired by Korean traditions and seasonal ingredients. Named after the Korean word for “expert,” Dosa takes diners on a journey through dishes such as Brill and Sea Urchin with Seaweed Soup, and Red Bean and Black Sesame Soufflé and is led by Executive Chef Jihun Kim, who has worked alongside Chef Akira Back for over ten years. Chef Kim is originally from Korea, where he helped with the first Dosa restaurant in Seoul, before going on to assist with Akira Back restaurant openings in Dubai and Paris. In addition to Dosa by Akira Back, he oversees all the restaurants and bars, as well as all food and drink offerings, in Mandarin Oriental Mayfair.
ABar Rooftop – Elevated Cocktails with Panoramic Views
Perched atop Mandarin Oriental Mayfair, ABar Rooftop offers breathtaking city views and a seasonally inspired cocktail menu. The drinks, categorised into Haru (Spring), Natsu (Summer), Aki (Autumn), and Fuyu (Winter), celebrate the evolving London landscape with creations like the Artichoke Thyme Old Fashioned and Fig & Yuzu Negroni. The rooftop’s lunch menu, curated by Chef Akira Back, features duck leg and lentil salad, salmon sashimi don, and Wagyu burgers. The dinner menu showcases an array of sushi bites, crudo, and small plates. ABar Lounge – Events Space
Situated next to Akira Back, ABar Lounge is an intimate, high-energy cocktail bar that blends classic mixology with avant-garde creativity. Signature cocktails such as the Hatsuhi Sunrise, infused with Altos Reposado tequila, Fair kumquat liqueur, citrus berries and Fever Tree blood orange soda, and the Suika Sour, featuring Belvedere organic blackberry & lemongrass vodka, Cointreau, watermelon saké and lemon, set the tone for an elevated night out.
