Bosch, alongside broadcaster, chef, and cultural tastemaker Gok Wan, is redefining the restaurant experience, with the launch of a bold new dining concept: FLOORS.
Open for one night only on Friday 9th May, FLOORS invites you to step outside of your culinary comfort zone. Here, there are no tables, no plates, and no conventional seating. Instead, a carefully curated tasting menu is served on a floor so clean, you can eat from it - literally.
Inspired by Bosch’s latest consumer research - revealing that 43% of Brits follow the ‘five-second rule’- FLOORS is here to the disrupt norm, using cutting-edge cleaning tech and smart design to create a space where the floor is not avoided, but celebrated.
All the dishes at FLOORS have been specially curated for this floor-focused dining format. The pop up will be serving up a multi-course tasting menu inspired by modern Asian cuisine, with each dish designed to elevate both flavour and format.
Example dishes include:
Lychee ceviche, served in a chilled oyster shell (vg)
Miso salt dough baked vegetables, served with charcoal pre-ferment flatbread and a trio of compound flavoured butters (v)
Lotus leaf steamed meats, featuring black bean peppered beef, duck, and oyster mushroom
Black sesame mochi cake with fuyu sour cream and an edible rice paper receipt (v)
This pop-up marks the launch of Bosch’s most advanced cleaning innovation yet: the Unlimited 10 vacuum cleaner. Thanks to its deep-cleaning capabilities, food will be served on ultra-hygienic surfaces prepared to a standard typically reserved for countertops.
And for those curious about just how clean these floors really are, guests will even have the chance to try the Bosch Unlimited 10 themselves - cleaning up after their own crumbs and discovering just how effortlessly spotless a surface can be.
Gok Wan, who is partnering with Bosch to bring this concept to life, shares his take on how a cleaner floor could change our eating habits:
“Our survey shows, dropped food doesn’t have to mean wasted food, but it all depends on where it lands and how clean your floor is. We’ve all had that moment where something delicious slips through our fingers, and sometimes, it’s just too good to let go. With Bosch’s Unlimited 10 Cordless Vacuum Cleaner, you could stop relying on the five-second rule, knowing your floors are spotless.”
The venue is accessible, however, due to the nature of the event, we ask anyone with accessibility issues around mobility to contact us to discuss accessibility options'. Floor seating will be cushioned and arranged in intimate groups, creating a comfortable and relaxed environment for everyone. To book your tickets, click the Eventbrite link here.
