Vivek Singh's London restaurants are going all out this Diwali with a series of delicious menus. With the Festival of Lights falling on 20th October, the Cinnamon Collection is celebrating with a series of limited-edition feasting menus running all month across all five of their London restaurants – The Cinnamon Club in Westminster, Cinnamon Bazaar in Covent Garden and Richmond, Cinnamon Kitchen Battersea and Cinnamon Kitchen City. From casual feasting to indulgent sharing menus, each restaurant is showcasing modern Indian cookery, packed full of flavour, along with limited edition celebratory cocktails and indulgent desserts.
Vivek Singh, Executive Chef and Founder of the Cinnamon Collection comments: “Diwali has always been a celebration close to my heart - a festival that brings light into our homes and love into our lives. Growing up, I remember the glow of diyas, the scent of festive sweets, and the laughter that echoed through every room. It’s this spirit of togetherness and indulgence that we bring to all restaurants for the occasion.”
We visited Covent Garden's Cinnamon Bazaar last week and tucked into its eight course Diwali feast (also available at the Richmond branch). At just £39 per person, including a rather fantastic Cinnamon Bellini, it's exceptional value. We devoured the incredible, juicy fried crisp sea break fillets with onion chilli salad, and a deliciously juicy tandoori chicken this with garlic and fenugreek leaf, as well as a creamy lentil chaat. The bombay spiced beetroot and potato, with toasted brioche, is fantastic, as is a shrimp curry, but the standout was the lamb rogan josh shepherd's pie; an Indian twist on a classic British favourite, it's warming, hearty, comfort food. We could have licked the bowl clean. Finishing up with an almond and rose kulfi, it's a menu we've been thinking about ever since.
The rest of Singh's Diwali menus include...
