Any fashion fans will know the tragic tale of Gianna Versace, the legendary designer who only had 19 years at the top before he was gunned down in front of his Miami mansion in 1997. After the last major exhibition of his work was showcased at the V&A in 2002, there's now a new retropsective in situ at London Bridge's Arches.
Gianni Versace Retrospective occupies a space under the station, secretly tucked away but worth the minor detour. It's home to over 450 original vintage Gianni Versace-designed pieces, featuring iconic looks worn by Princess Diana, Naomi Campbell, Kate Moss and more. From the absolute kaleidoscope that is Elton John's dazzling Versace shirt collection, to the absolutely iconic black leather and gold accented Miss S&M collection (which included that infamous dress worn by Elizabeth Hurley to the Four Weddings and Funeral premiere) and catwalk looks from the supermodels of the early 90s, it's a realy trip down memory lane.
It's a stunning collection, full not just of spectacular fashion, but behind the scenes insights of one of the most important brands in fashion history, including a replica of his very studio.
Open until Sunday 1st March. Tickets from £18.75.
