Warner TV have recreated ‘Central Perk’ in London – the famous coffee shop that played a central role in the NYC based ‘Friends’ series.

The pop-up operation opened today at 67 Broadwick Street, Soho in the heart of the capital, with a star-studded launch party taking place last night.

Fans will have just two weeks to relive their favourite ‘Friends’ moments enjoying a cappuccino one of the famous sofas.

The venue is decked out with rare memorabilia from the show and fans can enjoy a free coffee by downloading a voucher from a special website celebrating the event.

The Central Perk coffee house that featured prominently in the series has inspired various imitations throughout the world, but this is the most authentic recreation with Warner’s official stamp of approval.

The installation is being staged by the broadcaster to mark the 15th Anniversary of the series which launched on NBC in the US on September 22, 1994.

The anniversary is also being used as an opportunity to release a DVD box set of the series – episodes one to 10 with “extended, exclusive and unseen footage.”

The finale of the show - featuring Monica, Chandler, Joey, Ross, Phoebe and Rachel – was aired on May 6, 2004, was watched by 52.5 million American viewers, making it the fourth most-watched series finale in television history.

“Relive the place where it all happened,” says Warner TV. “The bad jokes, the chat up lines and the gossip.”
