All In London Review

Leagues above any other London karaoke bar I've frequented...

Review Image
It is a truth universally acknowledged that even the worst singers in the world love karaoke. Fact. If you've ever stumbled past The Blue Eyed Maid on Borough High Street of a Friday night you'll be aware that being tone deaf is no barrier to getting on the microphone. But for those who prefer a modicum of privacy to their vocal pyrotechnics, London's X branches of Lucky Voice provide all the joy of everyone's favourite ? With the bonus of a private room, so one needn't embarrass oneself in public (not to mention having total control over what you *actually* have to subject your ears to...)

It's no secret that the addition of a couple of jars not only lubricates the vocal chords but also the self confidence, and whilst we obviously condone drinking responsibly here at All in London, we won't deny that we were rather tickled to discover the introduction of Lucky Voice's new Prosecco Wednesdays. Oh yes, you read that correctly. This ingenious new addition to their menu involves a two hour slot in a private room with unlimited prosecco on tap, all for the purse-friendly sum of £15 per person on top of the standard £12 singing fee. Sounds like a winning combination (not to mention a bargain) and it is.

I paid a visit a few weeks ago and let me tell you, it was a banger of a night. I must apologise to manager of the Islington bar Harry and his wonderful staff, for the wailing and screeching that emanated from our booth over the course of the evening, as we tackled (i.e. murdered...) a plethora of 90s RnB, Motown classics and a veritable Greatest Hits of power ballads; Turn Back Time, Simply The Best, Total Eclipse of the Heart - I nailed them all.

Lucky Voice's playlist is endless, certainly leagues above any other London karaoke bar I've frequented (and trust me, there's been a few) and the addition of unlimited prosecco, eliminating decisions on bar menus and pesky split bills, means one can purely focus on the task in hand; making as much noice as possible. Karaoke and prosecco is a winning combination and with Wednesday being the new Friday it’s the absolutely perfect excuse to go out out and shake up your midweek.
