Built around 1890 and mothballed in the 1960s, the Attendant has been dormant for more than fifty years.

After two-years planning and restoration the old Attendant’s office has been turned into a little kitchen and the original porcelain urinals have become an inspired line with green seating to match the original Victorian floor tiles.

The Attendant Café actually used to be a toilet itself. The repurposed space now houses a delightful little café that incorporates (properly cleaned and sterilized) old fixtures from its former use. This is surely the most chic public toilet left in London?

I had a muffin with maple-cured bacon, eggs (free range of course) and Swiss cheese, for £4.25 and it was pretty damn good. Well worth a vi
