Merchant House

Merchant House is a premium bar housed over two floors in the City of London. Officially opening on 11th June 2014, Merchant House will stock an array of super-premium, rare and vintage rums as well as a diverse collection of over 250 gins. There are dedicated areas for spirit masterclasses with the main bar situated in the basement.

Tucked away at 13 Well Court, London, just off Bow Lane and a stone’s throw from the historic St. Mary-le-Bow church, Merchant House has a capacity of 130 guests and is a celebration of London’s mercantile history and the decadent spices, sugar and rum that have been brought to the City over the centuries. A bespoke cocktail menu, designed by The London Bar Consultants, showcases the high-end spirits on offer. A concise food menu including meat and cheese platters from local suppliers will also be available.

The design and furnishings incorporate dark blue leather seating set against wood flooring, with hints of London’s merchant history reflected in the fixtures and fittings. Combined with subtle lighting, the décor is intended to create an intimate and enticing atmosphere. Plans are in place to introduce a regular live jazz music night in the coming months.
