All In London Review

Noodles, pints and Primrose Hill celebs

Situated minutes away from Chalk Farm tube station, this cosy pub gets filled with colourful characters and inebriated local residents. Posters, religious frescoes and stuffed animals compete for space on the walls, minimalism clearly not being a key look here.

There are enough tables and chairs to provide seating most evenings, however there is a slightly more secluded room complete with fireplace for those indulging in hair of the dog or simply wishing to sit away from the rowdier bar area. A beer garden caters to days of clement weather.

Its cosy open fire, traditional furnishings and billing as a “genuine London boozer” is somewhat at odds with the Thai food menu, which offers South East Asian delights such as sweet and sour curry and coconut noodle soup.

If the proposition of a Thai meal combined with supping a quiet pint or nine in the corner isn’t enough, turn up for a comedy or folk night or, if you can be bothered, try spotting a straggling Primrose Hill celeb – after all, the pub is named after the founder of Tatler magazine.

This is a marvellous and unique pub. The decor is eccentric and it definitely is not one of your blond wood bland pubs. It's generally pretty crowded downstairs, but there's a lovely big room with squishy leather sofas upstairs and a beer garden to enjoy when the weather allows.
