This pub is named after Queen Victoria's fourth daughter, Louise. It was built in 1872 and was refurbished in 1891. Ornate plaster work, beautiful cut and gilt mirrors and the finest decorated tiles are plentiful. It serves bar food and there is a restaurant. Catering for private parties of up to 100 guests (on Mondays, Tuesdays and Wednesdays) is available upon request.

This is what Britain does best

Back in the Victorian age, pubs weren’t the socially acceptable destination that they are now. In fact, people actively avoided being seen in them. Which is one of the reasons for the exquisite interior at The Princess Louise. Built into the timber of the pub are compartments that line the bar, complete with frosted glass, which mean that even today you can dive in and out of eyesight of prying eyes. Being a Samuel Smith pub also takes prices closer to days of old – but not that close.

We've found some great places to spend a penny

While the toilets at The Princess Louise in Holborn have a mad ‘ye olde’ style going on, they also seem so old that they appear to have become quite the cutting edge design display. Prints, tiles, marble and stained glass all help to make an attractive toilet experience that will get you drinking quicker for a swift return visit.

Great and relaxed pub. The style is different than any other pub you will find. They have seperate booth connected to the bar for more privacy. The drinks are not over priced and the atmosphere is good. The only thing: the music is missing.
