We held our wedding reception here (a Saturday, private function only). Staff couldn't have been more helpful, professional and friendly, in planning and on the day; food (especially mini pies, yummmy!) excellent and all our guests loved the space - and the beer!

The Butcher's Hook & Cleaver is my local pub/wine bar - both near where i work and where I live. Service is excellent, staff helpful and willing, food very good, portions large. Ambient also excellent - can get crowded and noisy at evenings and on Fridays. I thoroughly recommend it.

After a good lunch of roast beef at Butchers' Hall, and a visit to St Paul's, the Butcher's Hook and Cleaver, right by Smithfield Market, was most appropriate for a pint or two!

Not an old London pub but a real London pub all the same. The pints of Fuller's India Pale Ale were jolly good and this large pub, open to the late spring sunshine outside, has a light and airy feel to it.

Able to stand at the bar for some hours, with no hassle or jostling from too many people, the bar staff served promptly and cheerfully. Good bar staff are very important - second only to the beer - to me and the young, happy, Italian bar manager, Juventus-supporting Benedetto, is ideal for the job. Enj
