The Junction Tavern is an imposing Victorian building in the heart of North London. Dating back to 1885, the main bar and dining room reflects its late Victorian heyday, but with all the modern comfort and facilities of a great British pub. Plum in the middle of Kentish Town and Tufnell Park, its 18th century frontage veils a TARDIS-like interior of dark-panelled rooms, a bright and airy conservatory and an award-winning beer garden.

I give the Junction 10/10 not just because it is my local- but because the food is always good, not cheap but consistently very good quality, the staff are always genuinely friendly and helpful, the beer is good, the wine is good and the atmosphere is civilised, not pretentious- despite being a 'gastropub' it is still a decent pub where you can pop in for a drink and often see familiar faces, i.e. locals, as well as 'visiting' diners.

Just my sort of pub. Leather chairs and warm beer with the weekend papers and great food.
