Carlton Arms

I randomly popped in here on my way out for a quick one and ended up stopping there most of the night. The atmosphere was so welcoming I felt like I'd joined an instant family. There was a stage in the corner with a solo guy on the guitar. He was soulful and created a nice chilled out vibe. And in the garden I saw easily the best beatbox performance of my life so far. Whether the guy had been booked I have no idea. But that really just summed up the eclectic nature of the place. Great variety of people but with no trouble at all. Even some free sarnies at the bar. Good old east-end hospitalit
