Private Area

Situated directly behind Queens Club, The Idle Hour (previously The Queen's Arms) has undergone major refurbishment in April 2010.

It is now an urban chic Gastropub with downstairs bar & seating, & additional first floor dining room, which is available for private functions.

With an exciting new menu comprising mainly organic ingredients, the food can be described as: Simple, seasonal and sensational!

Its sister pub, The Idle Hour in Barnes, has accumulated a huge number of awards and accolades over the years. The Barons Court site is destined for the same recognition.

Be sure to try out the award-winning burgers at our half-price burger nights on Mondays!

...and if you are free on Thursday 27 May 2010, please feel free to come along to our grand opening night!

I couldn't visit The Idle Hour without trying their award winning burger, it claims to be the best burger in the whole of Britain! And it didn't disappoint, I loved the melted cheese and onion chutney - although there was perhaps a little too much of that. And this was honestly the first burger I've ever completely finished in a restaurant, which is saying something! Normally with a burger I get bored half way though and just fill up on chips instead, but this burger kept me hooked until the last mouthful and it went really well with the gorgeous fries and lovely fresh salad with it.
Had a great night with the other half, a gastropub not to be missed!

I popped in on for one of their half price burgers on a Monday special offer. It's a rare thing to be surprised by a burger these days, but all the same...you need to try one of these it was amazing! Tough to explain exactly why without being AA Gill or the blond.

I am thinking about the rest of the menu now. Good stuff when Gastro pubs are two a penny.

Looks like we have a good pub in the area. (The bitter was good too.)
