Nice local pub, popular with the people from the nearby business park. Has recently been refurbished but still retains its traditional character. The tenancy has definitely improved things, they now have a more varied selection of food as well.
Admittedly its rather noisy if you sit outside facing the Hogarth roundback. Fortunately there's a good sized beer garden out the back too, which is quiet and full of flowers and greenery. The railings are great for tethering your bike, or your horse!
They have a function room where local groups can hold meetings free of charge and bands often practise.
The George and Devonshire is situated about 100 yards from the Thames, in Old Chiswick, with monthly live music, real ale, pool tables, a pleasant lounge and a smoke-free back room for functions and dining.
