The Alma is a tiny pub right in the middle of Chapel Market that serves a variety of real ales, beers, wines and spirits as well as crisps and nuts.

A great pint of craft beer on cask in here the other day and really top value. Found the regulars to be perfectly friendly and respectful too - had a particular laugh with one fella when I couldn't find the gents. Customers seem to hold the owners in good esteem and looks to be a well run and loved pub. Nice new leather banquettes running the length of the wall was a nice touch. Definitely a wet led establishment but it works for me! Looking forward to coming back and bringing a few mates.

This place is from another time. Grubby, dirty and angry.
Would recommend going for the amusement factor.
Expect to be stared at if you are under 50 and don't drink 15 pints.

Listen up people. If you love London, you should love the 'essence' of London. This place has it all. This is the best pub in London. End of. It has real beer for the astute drinker, it has drinks less than two pounds a pint for the student, it has kareoke for the rest of the universe. You will see the humanity of man from every drinker, all are welcome. It has the most exclusive Sports Bar in London. The best thing I can say about this place is it is 'real'. I love it. Not a mullet in sight......and at the very least you can pick up a pack of nuts.

You can keep your fancy wine bars and pool halls, The Alma is where it's at. Like it's Corrie namesake, the Alma is fun, with a capital F. Live music, sing-alongs and an atmosphere that could turn at any given moment.

When living on Chapel Market this became a haven of joy for me and my local market friends. Homely atmosphere, sports bar, great singing and dancing and top quality nuts. I recommend the saturday night for Karaoke and old fashioned digital poker.
