All In London Review
Burgers, wings, hot dogs and an array of craft beer and ales make it a real contender.
One of a number of branches, the Tower Bridge pub is a good-looking space that is always likely to be a good shout for big groups. Unpretentious but simply styled, you’ll find large windows flooding the neutral beige interior with natural light. Green stools and a bright red ceiling add a touch of imagination but the overall look is comfortable rather than anything too creative – fine by us.
Along with the array of craft beers served both by the bottle and on draft, the pub opts for a menu that squeezes everything it can from London’s obsession with glorified junk food. Think burgers, hot dogs, pulled pork and buffalo wings to go along with all that artisan ale.
Clearly the south side of Tower Bridge isn’t London’s premier hot spot but when we visit after a day on the Bermondsey Beer Mile we find a good atmosphere happy to open its arms to a group who clearly didn’t stick to halves in the six breweries toured throughout the day. Chain pubs regularly fail to evoke much satisfaction with their bland identical interiors but Draft House isn’t one of them.
