Choir of King’s College, Cambridge has been delighting audiences since it was founded in the fifteenth century and is undoubtedly one of the world’s best known choral groups. Every Christmas Eve millions of people worldwide tune in to appreciate the choir’s music on ‘A Festival of Nine Lessons and Carols’, a programme which has been broadcast each year by the BBC since 1928.

The new album, ‘England my England’, is a collection of Essential English music which opens and closes with coronation music; ’Zadok Priest’ and ‘I was glad’ were written for the crownings of George II and Edward VII and have both been sung at coronation ceremonies ever since. The collection also includes favourite hymns which will be recognised by listeners of all ages such as ‘Praise, my soul, the king of heaven’, ‘All people that on earth do dwell’ and ‘The Lord is my shepherd’.
