Following a hugely successful Club campaign last summer, new track, ‘Disrespectful’ will now be officially released on CD and digital download on the 29th June 2009 due to phenomenal public demand. The track was written by, and features R&B legend Mary J.Blige. It earned a Grammy for the category ‘Best R&B Performance by a Duo’.
It is taken from Chaka’s amazing new album ‘Funk This’ which achieved the Grammy for ‘Best R&B Album’ in 2008, making Chaka Khan an amazing 10 time Grammy Award Winner.
‘Funk This’ is a return to the sounds of her musical roots with Rufus, a glorious collaboration with the super hit making team Jimmy Jam & Terry Lewis. It’s a tough ‘n’ earthy showcase for the gritty, in-your-face sound that first attracted Khan’s solid and loyal fan base.
