Chelsea Galleries

I visited the Chelsea Galleries earlier this year, and although didn't buy anything, met some very knowledgeable antique dealers who were only too happy to talk to me about their stock. I received some good advice and will certainly go back when I want to buy something nice for my home.

My wife and I bought a £1200 grandmother clock from Chelsea Clocks & Antiques in this centre and was told it was in good working condition. It turned out after we got it home that the clock did not work at all. The seller does not answer his phone at all, and we are now looking at a £300 repair bill by a local clock specialist to get the clock put right. This is terrible service from what we believed to be a specialist clock and antique dealer on Portobello Road. We are left very angry knowing we have been cheated.
